Check Up

Ewan had his 9 month check up yesterday. (I posted his latest stats on the right.) The appointments are pretty routine, however this time they wanted to check his iron levels to make sure he's on track. They pricked his big toe to get a blood iron sample and it came back low. They did it again to run a second test... low. Now they want us to go across the street to the blood lab to have blood work done. Poor baby sat on daddy's lap while one blood technician held his arm straight and another one tried to find a vein. Ewan cried. No luck on the first arm, time to try the other arm. Luckily, it worked and they got what they needed.

Ewan is always so brave. He only cried during the vein probing, then stopped while his blood was still being taken. He then held it together in the waiting room while I finished up all the paperwork. As soon as we walked out of the office bulding and into the parking lot, he broke down crying again. Poor thing had to let it all out.
The doctor's office called later that afternoon to tell us everything was fine. No need to worry about his iron. Great news! Terrible that I had to put my baby through all that. However, he has more than recovered already. I think it was more traumatic for me than it was for him. I have since recovered too. :)

Nothing a warm IRON FORTIFIED formula bottle couldn't fix. :)

...To You!

Happy 18th Birthday Auntie Liana!
.

Orange

If it wasn't already obvious, orange is my favorite color. And for now, it's Ewan's favorite color because I get to choose what he wears. :) Here he is rockin his Hurley shirt from Auntie Felicia. I was able to get my hands on my mom's camera yesterday ("Things I'd like to do"... see previous post) and get a picture of his newly showing, top teeth coming in.
.

He was also rockin the elmo diapies. :)

Top teeth. Ouch!

Bottom 2, while we're at at.

This kid loves his bottle. I stopped nursing him a few weeks ago because he much preferred his baba over mommy.

Down to the orange striped tennies people.

So Big

As of today, I'm officially a mother of a 9 month old.

A handsome 9 month old, if I do say so myself. :)

Eight

I'm it! Thanks to Molly.

8 things I'm looking forward to...
1. Summer. Beach. Swimming. Tanning.
2. Ewan's 1st birthday!
3. My 1st Mother's Day this weekend.
4. The arrival of Violet. I'm finally going to be an Aunt! And Ewan gets to be the big cousin.
5. Dinner tonight. Left over tacos from last night's fiesta. And margaritas again, while we're at it. :)
6. Our 5 year anniversary in September.

7. Another baby.
8. Next year. Our lease will be up, which means a new adventure for us.

8 things I did yesterday...
1. Took a shower AND washed my hair.
2. Was Liana's personal stylist. Again. Seriously, what would you do without me?
3. Walked around Michael's for an hour while Ewan slept in the stroller. Scored some fun finds. And scored a nap.
4. Bought a car battery. Mine is going to die. However, it's still currently sitting in the passenger seat. Anyone now how to change a car battery?
5. Made business cards for Ewan. Curious, aren't ya?
6. Cooked up chicken tacos with all the fixin's.
7. Threw Liana's toothbrush in the street. With good reason people.
8. Had a wedgie war with Jeff. :)

8 things I wish I could do..
1. Fly my husband home every night after work so he would be home within 10 minutes of getting off versus an hour.
2. Travel.
3. See Alex whenever I wanted. We missed you for Cinco de Mayo!

4. Read faster. I have so many books I want to read.
5. Buy a camera just like my mom's. Someday.
6. Relax more. I'm such a busy body.
7. Get a new pair of shoes for every occasion. Doesn't every girl wish that?
8. Sew. My mom and mother-in-law are amazing at it. Is it not genetic?

8 shows I am currently watching...
1. American Idol
2. Survivor
3. The Office
4. Ghost Hunters
5. Lost
6. The Food Network

What to do?

Ok, last post about my teething child.

Today was MUCH better. However, what better to do with a cranky kid in the middle of the afternoon than... take a bath! Oh, what fun we had!

And what better idea than to take your cell phone in the bath with you to take pictures... BAD idea. But my phone is half broken already, so no big risk. Nothing happened either, in case you're wondering.

There were more pictures, but I'll spare you. Jeff will be getting them texted to him at work instead. :)
.
And can you guess what happens after a 40 minute bath at 2pm, A NAP! Ewan is catching some much needed zzz's right now.
.
Ok. That's it. No more teething posts.
.
For now. :)

And Another One

I am finally in bed after one of the longest days of my life. Jeff is the living room on his laptop working on a test for his class due by midnight and Ewan is sleeping soundly in his crib.

I'm listening to the best sound I've heard all day... silence.

Another tooth (top right) down. Another rough teething day.

He didn't nap all day. His teeth and gums were so sore that he couldn't focus on anything other than the pain. His marathon day started at 7am and ended at 7pm. He handled it like a champ though, hanging out with all the Lohman women and friends at Ashley's baby shower.

I pray he sleeps deeply, resting his little body.

Same goes for me. :)

Another tooth

Finally, the teething baby is sound asleep tonight looking just like all the pictures in the previous post. Ewan has been a cranky, clingy, teething mess. After a rough couple of days this week, his top left tooth has finally shown itself today. Boy do I miss Sophie.

Time to document today's tooth in Ewan's baby book.

3 teeth down... many more to go.

Love My Boppy & Bunny... Still.

I don't think Ewan will ever outgrow his best buds... Boppy and Bunny. These are pictures from the last couple weeks. He has loved them from the beginning and they still bring him the ultimate comfort, second to mommy of course...
I think... I hope. :)

Love this sweet, sleeping baby!
